Former Director General of Income Tax
Ramesh Kumar Yadav is a Senior Partner at Alba Law Offices, based in Delhi. He brings to the firm more than three decades of distinguished public-service experience, complemented by his corporate-law background and deep understanding of Central and State Government’s functioning, particularly frameworks governing economic offences.
A 1987-batch officer of the Indian Revenue Service, Ramesh superannuated as Director General of Income Tax (Intelligence and Criminal Investigation) on 31 January 2021. Before joining the Indian Revenue Service, he served in the Provincial Civil Service, Uttar Pradesh, from 1985 to 1987. His career across the civil services and tax administration gives him a rare perspective on the practical functioning of regulatory institutions, government processes and compliance environments.
At Alba Law Offices, Ramesh advises on corporate consulting and strategic regulatory matters: regulatory interfaces, tax and financial-administration considerations, governance, compliance strategy and risk assessment, for businesses and stakeholders navigating matters that require both commercial perspective and a sophisticated understanding of public authorities.
